A Typical Day in the Life of Our Montreal Team
Public relations professionals know this well—explaining how our field works to people who aren’t in it isn’t always easy. For many, public relations is often perceived as a very glamorous sector, filled with exclusive events and celebrity meetings. But behind the spotlight, a typical day for professionals in this field is busy and varied. Here’s a glimpse of what a typical day looks like for our Montreal team.
9:00 AM – Arrival at the Office (the beautiful Montreal WeWork): After a well-deserved coffee, it’s time to review our day—the key tasks and meetings on the agenda. No matter our role at the agency, the day also starts with media monitoring to see what happened since the previous day and if we have any new articles to share with our clients. This helps us stay informed about recent developments and identify any opportunities or threats for our clients.
10:00 AM – Internal Meetings: The internal teams meet at least once a week to review our tasks for the week and support each other as needed. It’s also the perfect time for brainstorming if one of us needs help with a campaign. If there are no meetings, the morning is also the ideal time to send out our pitches and invitations to the media.
12:00 PM – Short Lunch Break: We take this time to get some fresh air and chat about anything and everything.
1:00 PM – Calls and Meetings with Clients: Calls and meetings with clients are essential for discussing progress, addressing questions, and adjusting strategies. Our team must always be ready to provide updates, advice, and recommendations based on results and media feedback.
3:00 PM – Event and Project Coordination: Coordinating events, product launches, or promotional campaigns is another important task. This includes managing logistical details, communicating with suppliers, and overseeing the teams involved in project execution. This time is also ideal for working on writing pitches and press releases.
5:00 PM – Review and Preparation for the Next Day: Before wrapping up the day, we review our completed tasks and plan activities for the next day. We also make sure to finish our days with one last check of our emails.
6:00 PM – It’s typically “5 à 7” time for the Montreal team! Being big foodies, one of our favorite activities is trying out new spots in town. This not only allows us to unwind from work but also provides some networking opportunities and helps us find new potential venues for the events we’re planning. Our team’s current favorites? Romie’s, Terrasse Perché, and BarBara.
