December. The month when your calendar is fully booked with family dinners, office holiday parties and catching up with old friends.
With all the hustle and bustle that comes along with the holiday season – even the thought of having to find a last-minute gift can seem exhausting. Take some you time – and visit some of our must-visit spots in the city to make sure your holidays are filled with festive flare!
It’s no secret that our city is a goldmine for foodies. With menus changing as frequently as the seasons, it comes as no surprise that many of the top chefs in Toronto have come out with some belt-busting, mouth-watering, winter dishes. We’re sharing with you four of our favourites!
Day One:
Nobody does winter quite like we do here in the north. An ode to Canadian cuisine, Antler is one of Little Portugal’s greatest up and coming restaurants. The menu is made entirely of the farm-raised game and hunter foraged ingredients that add a unique twist to some delicious classics.
Day Two:
With this time of year comes the perfect opportunity to shamelessly indulge your sweet tooth. Not only is Cacao 70 a chocolate lover’s heaven, but it’s also located in the heart of the Distillery District – making it the perfect treat after a visit to Toronto’s famous Christmas Market.
Day Three:
Figo, the latest brainchild from the food gurus behind Toronto classics Patria, Weslodge and Byblos, boasts a seasonal, Italian-inspired menu. From the house-made ricotta to the hand-made pasta, Figo has us wondering if we ever have to actually visit Italy!
Day Four:
You don’t always have to eat out to eat well! Why not take one of the many Toronto snow storms as the perfect reason to turn on a movie, light the fire and order in? New to the streets of Toronto, MakerPizza, puts a whole new spin on delivery with their made-to-order gourmet pizzas brought right to your doorstep. Now that’s a Christmas miracle.
We’re only at day four but we’ve got you covered for the next eight days, so stay tuned for more of our festive suggestions!
